JOY
Dancing is the language of my heart;
a profound passion that fills my life with vibrant energy and joy.
I have started dancing at a young age with ballet, followed by middle eastern folk dances, modern dance, latin dances and jazz dance. After exploring various dance forms, I found myself captivated by the mesmerizing artistry, beauty of expression and cultural richness inherent in bellydance.
I have been teaching bellydance classes and also organizing stage performances, workshops and events in South Korea, Turkey, United States of America and Japan since 2006.
I had chances to dance and work with lots of very talented dancers from all around the world.
I had been on various TV programs on KBS TV (South Korea), NHK TV (Japan), Aichi TV (Japan) and TV Asahi (Japan). I made collaborations with many artists in and out of the bellydance world.
I had established my own bellydance school in 2008 in Nagoya/Japan.
Until I moved into Netherlands in 2022; I had hundreds of students, by building an intensive instructor course; trained many bellydance instructors, prepared choreographies for professional teams and solo performers.
I even brought art of bellydance onto the frozen stage by making choreographies for World Championship and Grand Prix medalist figure skater Suzuki Akiko in 2010-2011.
Now I am very excited and happy to welcome you to
Joy Dance Lab - a warm family, a beautiful and supportive community, and a safe and friendly space created from my deep passion for bellydance and for empowering women.
Here, we come together to celebrate movement, boost our feminine energy, build confidence, and embrace our sensuality with joy, pride and freedom. Through dance, we not only have fun and express ourselves, but also grow stronger, increase our flexibility, and reconnect with our bodies.
Most importantly, we support one another, create meaningful connections, lovely memories and share a journey where every woman feels seen, welcomed, and empowered.

VARSHA
Originally from Bangalore, India, dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I took my first class in the Indian classical dance form Bharatanatyam at the age of five, and since then, I have grown up learning a variety of styles, including Bollywood, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, and Indian folk dances. Exploring different styles helped me develop a deep love for movement, expression, and storytelling through dance.
My journey with belly dance began during a college performance, when a few dancers taught us a beginner routine. That moment sparked an everlasting love for belly dance, and soon I began formal training at a belly dance school in Bangalore.
Over the years, I performed in showcases, events, and as part of a performance troupe. One memorable experience was performing in The Oriental Trail, a production about the history of belly dance, where I portrayed the legendary Egyptian dancer Taheyya Karioka. I also started teaching belly dance and exploring different styles such as Tribal Fusion, Baladi, and Saidi. Coming from India, I feel deeply connected to Indian music and movement, and these influences naturally shape my dance style.
Today, I teach Beginner Belly Dance and Belly – Bollywood classes where I love creating a warm and welcoming space for everyone to move freely and explore dance. For me, dance is not only about steps but also about expression, passion, and connection. In my classes, I hope to help students discover their unique movement, embrace their femininity, and unlock the joyful, powerful energy that comes from dancing with confidence and heart.
