Joy Dance Lab Performs at Muziek aan de Gender XL – Belly Dance in Veldhoven

We were so excited to perform bellydance at Muziek aan de Gender XL in Veldhoven – and what an incredible day it was!
Muziek aan de Gender XL is one of the most beloved cultural festivals in the Brabant region, bringing together musicians, dancers and performers from across the world for a day of celebration, diversity and artistic expression. The festival takes place at De Plaatse in Veldhoven and is known for its warm, international atmosphere and the incredible variety of performances it showcases.
Joy Dance Lab performed on Sunday 22nd June at 17:45 on the International Podium – one of the most prestigious stages of the festival. The International Podium is exactly where belly dance belongs. As one of the most ancient and globally celebrated dance forms, belly dance is a true ambassador of international culture – connecting the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and beyond through movement, rhythm and feminine energy.
Our performance brought together the full Joy Dance Lab community – dancers of different levels, backgrounds and stories, all united by their love of belly dance and their commitment to growth. The energy on that stage was electric. The audience was warm and enthusiastic, and the sense of pride among our dancers was something truly special to witness.
Beyond our own performance, we also joined the big international finale at the end of the day – dancing alongside performers from around the world in a joyful celebration of music and movement.
Expect colours, rhythms and powerful feminine energy – that is the promise Joy Dance Lab brings to every stage we perform on. Belly dance is not just a performance art. It is a living tradition, a form of self-expression and a community practice. Every time we perform publicly, we share that message with a wider audience and invite more women to discover what belly dance can do for them.
